How this calculator arrives at its answer
Every trade calculator depends on a value chart, and the charts disagree — sometimes sharply, especially on rookies and ageing veterans. Rather than baking in one opinion and presenting it as fact, this calculator asks for the values you want to use.
The roster crunch adjustment reflects something raw totals miss: giving up three players for one costs you two roster spots, and the replacements you stream into them are worth far less than the players you gave up. Extra bodies are therefore discounted on each side.
Worked example
As an example, with a roster crunch adjustment of On — discount extra bodies, the calculator returns a verdict of Slight loss for you. Underneath, Raw value you give comes out at 6,000 (2 players) and Raw value you get at 5,500 (1 player). Change any field and every figure updates as you type.
