What this countdown does

A worked example
From 13 August 2026, Christmas Day 2026 is 133 days away — 19 weeks even — and falls on a Friday, with roughly 95 weekdays in between. Past dates work too: the calculator flips to “days ago”, which settles how long ago something happened just as quickly.
Common questions
Does the countdown include today and the target date?
It counts from today to the target exclusively of today — tomorrow is “1 day”. Whether the target itself counts is a matter of convention; the exact figure lets you apply yours.
Are public holidays excluded from working days?
No — holidays vary by country and workplace, so the weekday count is Mon–Fri only. Subtract your own holidays from it.
Can I count between two arbitrary dates?
