Enter your plant count, a per-plant yield and your harvest window to see the total expected harvest and the weekly flow at peak season.
The formula
Total harvest = plants Γ yield per plant, and the weekly figure divides that across your harvest window β the number that actually matters when the kitchen has to keep up.
Worked example
12 tomato plants at a conservative 8 lb each over an 8-week window: 96 lb total, about 12 lb a week at peak β roughly a grocery bag every few days.
Choosing a per-plant figure
Yields swing with variety, soil and season, so use a number from your own records or your seed supplierβs range, and lean conservative for planning. Rough home-garden starting points: determinate tomatoes 8β10 lb, indeterminate 10β20, zucchini 6β10, bush beans about half a pound per plant per picking, peppers 5β8 lb. The weekly figure is the honest planning tool: if 12 lb a week is more than you will eat, the answer is fewer plants or a canning plan, decided before the glut, not during it.
