The method behind this calculator
IVF pregnancies have an advantage over natural conception: the date of fertilisation is known exactly. That removes the cycle-length guesswork that makes last-period due dates approximate, so an IVF due date is usually the more accurate figure.
The number of days added depends on the embryo’s age at transfer — a day-5 blastocyst is already five days into development, so fewer days remain until the due date.
