Ohio Paycheck Calculator

Estimate Ohio take-home pay after federal tax, FICA and state income tax.

How ohio paycheck is worked out

Ohio has among the lower state income tax rates in the country and has been consolidating its brackets, but the state figure is only part of the picture. Ohio is one of the few states where local income taxes are widespread and material.

Most Ohio cities levy a municipal income tax on wages, typically in the region of one to three percent, administered either directly or through RITA or the CCA. Many school districts levy a separate income tax on top of that. Between them, local levies can exceed the state tax itself.

The estimate on this page covers federal, FICA and state income tax only. Check your specific municipality and school district code, because two people earning the same salary in different Ohio suburbs can take home noticeably different amounts.
